About Me

CURRENT MISSION

On a short trip through this planet we call Earth.

ABOUT ME

I'm an engineer who's working his way towards establishing himself as an author. I'm quiet. I'm not too experienced with traveling, particularly on my own, but I'm getting started on knowing the world that surrounds me. I'm mostly interested in culture, sights and gastronomy, and since I'm not a party guy the club scene is often not really my thing although I tend to remain relatively open to it. I'm easygoing, yet I can be hard to deal with at times. Just as well, I can be both very extroverted or shut in depending on when and how I'm approached, so it's hard to predict me. I'm currently mostly open to meeting new people in the places I'll be in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm currently trying to meet new people as I travel, not necessarily people to host me; mostly just people to hang out with.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, I'm new!

Interests

One word: Culture. I believe that in order to know the world it is important to actually know what's going on and what has gone on in it. I love music and literature, so it's rather easy for me to enjoy things others could find boring. I also love science, so anywhere I could gain some knowledge on how the universe around me works is also a good plan for me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books (A very short list, I've read hundreds!):

It, by Stephen King
American Gods, by Neil Gaiman
The City and The Stars, by Arthur C. Clarke
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll
The Vampire Lestat, by Anne Rice

Movies (Another short list, just some of the films I've liked the most):

Requiem For A Dream
Black Swan
Melancholia
We Need To Talk About Kevin
Big Fish
Dogville
Batman Movies (Burton and Nolan's)
Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain
Anything that will make me think ;)

Music:

I have a somewhat extensive taste, although I'm not too into rock/ska/rap/hiphop. For music, as with books and movies I follow a single rule: If it makes me think, I like. It doesn't mean I don't listen to my share of mindless pop/rock music, just that I'd rather put something on that will truly transport me. Give me classical music, any of it and I'll either already like it or learn to as I dive into it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Most of my knowledge is either horribly uninteresting computer bits or random facts about everything I've gathered as I grow :)

I speak several languages, however, so I could help you learn a bit more about Spanish/English/Italian/French.

If you play an instrument or a friend of yours does, I might sing for you. Might. If I know the song and the words to it.
