About Me

I'm Tjaša, a 19 year old girl from Slovenia, currently taking a gap year to travel and pursue other interests before I start my studies in The Netherlands.
I love to travel and meet local people along the way, as it really is the best and most fun way to experience the place I'm visiting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing after I had stayed with my sister in Vienna for a while and she was hosting Couchsurfers non-stop during my stay. We hosted some really interesting people, we went sightseeing with them and cooked together in the evening - I really enjoyed the experience so I decided to join, too!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: as long as it's something to dance or sing to, I'm gonna like it :)

Movies: i like movies a lot as they're a form of stationary traveling and meeting people when I don't get the actual chance to do it for real. I watch almost everything from Wes Anderson-ish and foreign films to Marvel and Game of Thrones.

Books: same as movies, I'll read everything. I actually do judge books by their covers and titles (but really just books haha) so there's a lot of variety. Some of my favorite authors are Milan Kundera, Haruki Murakami, Aarto Paasilinna, J.K. Rowling and Aldous Huxley.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A year long AFS exchange to France and living with an incredible French host family in Montpellier when I was 16; now it's my second home

Teach, Learn, Share

Cooking a traditional dish and learning some words of a foreign language is something I would love to learn but can also teach. If I host you, I'll teach you how to brew coffee the Balkan way with a džezva, and you bet there'll be a lot of coffee!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a nice time with my hosts, I like sharing my stories from traveling and I like hearing my hosts' stories. The conversation would never be dull!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Faroe Islands, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Slovakia, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Denmark, France, Slovenia
