About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make my dreams a reality, see the world, and meet awesome people!
ABOUT ME
This is always a hard question to answer as words cannot really encompass all that makes a person who he or she is.
I am pretty laid-back, open to new experiences, meeting new people, and basically just living life. I tend to accept people as they are, which makes it easy to get along with pretty much everyone, in just about any situation.
I love to walk. Public transportation is something that I take only if absolutely necessary. For the most part, a map and my feet is how I get around, so be prepared!
For the rest, you will have to meet me and find out!
PHILOSOPHY
Have no regrets. Try to live your life to the fullest, so that when you look back 60 years later, while you may not have done everything you thought you would do, you know that you had one hell of a time, and did the most with the time you had. Never tell yourself, "There is always tomorrow..."; seize every opportunity that comes your way. Never take things for granted. Understand that every day and every experience you have is a gift, and make the most of it. Life is too short for trying to stress over the little things. I have noticed that the great events in life come when you least expect them; when you stop looking. They can be a complete surprise, but yet, so natural, and in a way, as it should be. Moreover, they usually are so easy to get and understand, and are much less complicated than what you probably expect initially.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By being a part of the community, sharing my experiences, my hopes, my dreams, my frustrations, my friendship, my advice, and when available, my home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have slept on many couches, before and after joining this site, and each experience has been in its own way unique and rewarding. I love to spend time with my hosts, however, being as I am usually on a tight budget, it is not always possible to go out for dinner with people, though I am more than happy to share in a big meal at home with everyone. I can cook! :) I have also had the chance to host, and each time was just as pleasurable as those times when I was the surfer. It has been very educational to view "couchsurfing" from both sides, as the surfer and the host.
Interests
Writing, photography, drawing, painting, art, reading, travel, hiking, mountain climbing, camping, languages, meeting new people, sociology, anthropology, archeology, scuba diving, sky diving, flying a plane, swimming in the ocean, breathing, being happy, laughing at myself, taking things apart to find out how they work, friendships, physics, astronomy, watching the stars, walking in the rain, ginger cookies, cooking, animals, helping people, music, movies, architecture, history, folklore, sports (such as soccer, golf, and hockey), ...I am interested in absolutely everything. I love to learn. Also, I am not into just one type of situation or just one group of people. Everyone and every situation is different and I love to learn about all of them. As such, I am usually comfortable with and get along in most situations.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies, music and recently books play a huge part in my life, and there are so many favorites for each that it is impossible to list them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Everything that has happened in my life, the good and the bad, have been amazing experiences for me. It has all gotten me to where I am right now. Over the years, I have met some fantastic new friends, seen some amazing sights, and gained plenty of invaluable insights. There have been so many things done that I previously would have never imagined myself doing. Boundaries have been broken, hearts have been broken, and I have grown. I have learned what true love can be, what true friendship really is, and just what wonders (and horrors) are possible by those who have enough faith, enough desire, and enough focus to make their dreams a reality. Regardless, there is always tomorrow and new people to meet. I have learned to appreciate and see the value of the simple things in life, and, in the end, I have found myself at last.
Teach, Learn, Share
1. Please remember your socks. You can never have enough. They will come in handy for you, I swear.
2. Just because something says it is waterproof, that does not mean it is.
3. Be kind to your feet. As your number one form of transportation, it is always a good idea to take care of them.
4. Books are good when you are stationary, bad when you are traveling. They will weigh you down, believe me.
5. Wet cobblestones can be quite dangerous for the absent-minded, so beware.
6. Let things be and most certainly do not try to force them. Either they will fit with your life or not.
7. Always be willing to help someone out. Remember that one day you might be that person who needs a helping hand.
8. Do not forget to bring extra batteries. You will need them; even if you think you will not.
9. As there is never enough leg room on buses or planes, expect little comfort. Also, expect the guy (or girl) in the seat in front of you to either bounce around like a madman (or madwoman) or to lean too far back to give you even less space.
10. Do remember to bring extra plastic bags. They are a wonderful invention that have so many uses.
11. Do what the locals do as much as possible. Eat and drink and do your best to experience what you can from their perspective. You will learn so much afterwards, trust me.
12. A plastic bag filled with rice actually does work in drying out that MP3 player or mobile device you thought was safe from the rain in that so-called 'waterproof' bag of yours.
