About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meeting an amazing array of people on some epic couch surfing adventures.

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in the farm lands of the Australian outback, I am a huge fan of learning new things, experiencing different cultures and meeting new people. I study finance at the University of New South Wales, Australia, although I'm currently living in Madrid on my year of exchange. I can't explain how amazing it is to be completely immersed in such a beautiful European city.

My friends might comment that I have a "fear of missing out"... Whenever they are thinking of playing a game of soccer nearby, going out for coffee or simply doing the most simple of activities, I always tell them, "Let me know if something is happening!". Other friends might mention my attention to academic studies, however in reality, this only serves to provide greater free time to go surfing on the weekends, skate in the afternoons with the guys who I live with, and enjoy the rest of the time drinking delicious coffee in the sun.

PHILOSOPHY

"A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving."
-Lao Tzu (780 - 490 B.C.)

Interests

Interesting people are interesting, and I always want to find out how and why they are here with me in this very moment. I have a friend who was born in Guatemala, grew up in Venezuela, is fluent in three languages, and is now living down the hall studying at the same university as I am - isn't that incredible? People can have the most amazing stories, and yet, they will find your mundane, regular story of living in Sydney equally thrilling.

Sports have always held a particular interest for me, whether it's playing soccer on the beach with some Sri Lankan locals in Bentota, or in the backyard on a Sunday afternoon, this kind of leisure activity has provided me with pleasure for many years.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting the Sultanate of Oman for the very first time was an incredible experience; a combination of stark, dry landscape, the friendly people and amazing stories we came through with. It had been nearly three years since my family in its entirety (six siblings, two parents, a collection of partners and throw-ins) were in the same company, and we celebrated by taking a fishing dhow off the coast to spend the weekend. We ended up catching some deep sea fish with our local captain, snorkeling after turtles through the crystal clear waters and eventually finding a secluded little beach to make camp. Time spent included pushing car sized boulders down shaly slopes and roasting smores to perfection over a fire of dry weeds and sticks.
