ABOUT ME

I am a guy from Amsterdam, Holland.

About myself: I'm quite tall (6 feet 5), pretty happy and interested in many things. I like a game of, practically, every sport/board or just hang out in the sun. I enjoy the occasional museum and a serious conversation over a nice cold beer.

PHILOSOPHY

One goal in life is to find personal happiness; to be happy for the longest period of time possible. The other one is to strive for global happiness; to find happiness for as long as possible for as many people as possible. To live is to find balance in the search of these two.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now I am only able to find couches and people willing to let me use them. I don't have enough room to let someone stay at mine, someday I will though.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I tried CS for the first time in 2012 on a trip through the U.S. with a friend. We started out staying at hostels but as soon as we heard about the couchsurfing project, we decided to take the risk of trying it. We ended up making friends for life and a trip I will never forget. Truly amazing is that I found my girlfriend through couchsurfing, in the same trip.

Couchsurfing is one of the best things you can do on a trip and I am glad to be a part of it.

兴趣

Well, playing sports (Volleyball mainly, but I also like soccer, tennis, basketball, rowing). Listening music and trying to make some music (I play a few instruments on beginner level. I don't play very well but I like it, and that is what counts, right?). Hanging out with friends, playing a game of pool, having a beer! Oh, and food, I love food:D.

音乐、电影和书籍

Music is one of the most important things in life. I almost like every kind of music; blues, rock 'n roll, jazz, classical, dubstep, drum&bass, old school hip-hop, lounge, hardrock, metal, ska, pop. Just name it. A few of my favorite bands: The Beatles (ofcourse), Disturbed, Lamb of God, Blof, John Mayer, AC/DC, John Lee Hooker, The Kinks, Muddy Waters etc.

Other then that, I really like watching movies or just reading a book.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Seeing Joshua Tree National Park, which was just absolutely amazing. And at the same time renting a campervan and just drive through nature, camping everywhere, seeing the things you don't usually see. That was just an amazing experience.

Seeing the Niagra Falls, and go in there by boat.
