I'm an 18yr old girl from the Netherlands who grew up in Australia from age 11! Right from the start of my life I've been travelling on the regular, but this year I'm doing it for the first time on my own!!

I currently live on a farm near Melbourne. For many years now my family has been taking in WWOOFers', backpackers and occasional couch surfers to come help out a hand or enjoy life on our little plot of land, so I am familiar with building friendships quickly with new people on the regular. Unfortunately majority of couch surfers that have stayed with us in the past have done so through my parents's account so my profile has nothing to show for them, but my experiences with couch surfers are still the same.

I love animals! I have three dogs, a snake, a lizard, many horses, and a whole lot of chickens and ducks.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I finished high school last year, and before moving on to University I wanted to see a little more of the world. I think couch surfing is such a rewarding way to travel as there is nothing better than to build relationships with locals and learn to see a place through their eyes! I've only couch surfed once so far but I was wowed by how much you learn about a place and it's culture just by spending some time with its people!

Interests

I am passionate about hiking, camping, seeing nature, trying new foods and experiencing cultures, and learning languages. I also love photography! In my free time I draw and paint and write in my travel diary and blog! I love to explore out of the way places and see how the locals do things :))

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am always eager to help out around my hosts home, wether that be helping them clean or grocery shop, help with their English if desired, help prepare meals (I really enjoy cooking!) or other tasks to carry my load of house chores during my stay. I love to do things in return for my stay!
