Hmmmm... People sometimes tell me that I'm crazy. :) But not in a negative way you know... Maybe I'm not normal, but what is "normal"? I'd say I'm very open minded, very curious about this planet earth with all it's hidden secrets, people, places... I love meeting people from other cultures and learn from them. I'd die without travelling from time to time...

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to surf with or host people, join CS gatherings or give tours to travellers in my area if I have time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed lots of couches in Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Sweden, Switzerland, the US, Canada, Thailand and Burma. I also hosted a bunch of people back in Germany (at Constance, Munich and even at my parent's house in Baden-Baden :-)) and am still in contact with some of them. Besides I love CS gatherings cause there I can usually find the kind of people I like (open-minded and easy-going).

The only bad experiences I had so far were when people I hosted didn't write any references or weren't thankful at all. When I surf couches I try to be as nice as possible, don't bother anyone, clean up, cook, invite my hosts for a drink or bring a welcome present. I think that's the least one can do...

兴趣

travelling, friends, reading tons of newspapers and books, good music and movies, red wine, good food (preferably together with friends), modern art, hiking, biking... Oooooooh, it's difficult to talk about my interests... Actually I'm interested in everything! I love discussing with people from different backgrounds.I always get excited when I meet people from Uruguay...Brasil...Iceland - no matter where you're from!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I jumped of a tree house with an open umbrella in my hand when I was twelwe because I thought I could fly (ouch). I did a European Voluntary Service in Madrid/ Spain for 10 months, studied another 10 months in Lyon/ France, did a 4 months internship in the US (Washington, D.C.) and lived in Switzerland for 2 1/2 years. That's not amazing at all but I'm still very grateful for all those memories of the lovely people and places I met/ got to know on my way.

I know a lot about Switzerland, policy analysis, public management and Ballet. And I regularly advise teenagers on how to go abroad for a while after finishing high school without having to pay a lot of money. Instead of doing work and travel or an Aupair year you could also choose between several voluntary services.
