Overview
About Me
I’m the illegitimate love-child of Sarcasm and Creativity. Now neither of them admit to having me. A former web developer and marketing strategist, now a writer, public speaker, and future corpse.
I travel the country (and soon the globe!) to speak at conferences. When I'm not traveling, I write, blog, and pour myself into other people.
Few things thrill me more than hiking up a mountain, camping in the desert or biking through the city. Skydiving, white water rafting or rock climbing are suitable alternatives.
I push my limits and test my reservations. I try new things, go new places, meet new people, then do it all over again. People intrigue me, interpersonal stories amaze me, and I love to expand my horizons and learn from others.
I adore animals, especially dogs, elephants, and horses. I would totally have a pet elephant if I were rich enough. But alas, a pup must suffice. I relax with a thick book in hand, at a simple theatre production with friends, or immersed in a wonderful concert.
Life is too short, so I want to enjoy it and enrich the lives of others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I couchsurfed across the US when I moved from the east coast to the west, and met some amazing people along the way. I plan to do it some more, but I also want to return the favor. I love meeting new people, so this project is pretty awesome in my book.
Interests
I'm a serial entrepreneur. I've started three companies and been on the ground floor in four others. I love small businesses and helping them thrive.
I love exploring old towns and historic places. I'm a computer nerd, history nerd, science buff, and philosopher-of-sorts.
I love nature, the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, swimming, and exploring nature trails. Especially with a friend.
My hobbies are breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC:
I'm a fan of all kinds of music, especially traditional black gospel, classic country, jazz, blues, classical, and good ol' southern bluegrass.
MOVIES:
I love comedy, action & adventure, thrillers, hero movies, and the occasional horror film (if I have someone to hide behind during the scary parts). I am not a conspiracy theorist, but I do love conspiracy movies; I find it fun to indulge during the two-hour feature.
BOOKS:
Give me a mystery or suspense novel, an apologetics treatise, or an historical biography and I'll sit quietly for hours, absorbed in another world.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have traveled to six foreign countries throughout Central and South America, so I speak Spanish almost as well as Congress runs this country, but it is fun to try!
I have been skydiving, white water rafting and mountain biking. I still need to go scuba diving. I grew up on the east coast, travelled as far north as the tip of Maine, as far west as California, and as far south as Peru. I really need to expand my horizons toward Europe and Asia.
Teach, Learn, Share
Pudding tastes better with a plastic spoon. Oh, and putting yellow Koolaid in your dishwasher really does help eliminate hard water spots. Who'd have known?!
