About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Working to expand the worldview of children and adults in Japan as well as learn about Japanese education along the way.

ABOUT ME

Born in Queens, New York and raised on Long Island, I grew up in very diverse communities. My childhood experiences helped plant the seed for my future love of travel, world cultures, and language. Today, I am just a regular guy trying to make a difference for other people through sharing those passions. Here in rural Japan, I try to convey my enthusiasm in the classroom, though I am still learning how to be a "good" educator. I believe helping and learning from our fellow man around the world is a grander goal than limiting oneself to one's nation of birth.

PHILOSOPHY

Life's too important to take seriously. (Oscar Wilde)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am willing to offer half of my living space for travelers through my parts. I have come to love my town and my area, so I hope to share that with people who come down here if they are willing to explore! I also plan to couchsurf myself in the future, though my current lifestyle does not allow for much solo travel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Currently, I've never couchsurfed before, but I am familiar with it since my friends have had couchsurfers. I think it's a great way to see the world and get to know locals.

Interests

I'm interested in language and culture in general, though my current interests have developed around Japan. Photography, cooking, music and education all call to me, though I find that I am a kind of person who can find enjoyment in most things I put my mind to.
