À propos de moi
I have succumbed to Wanderlust....
ABOUT ME
After living in Botswana, Africa for the last 4.5 years, I returned to the United States to work as an Associate Technical Advisor for a Humanitarian Assistance and Resilience unit at an international NGO. I am seeing the world and doing my part along the way.
I am also an avid traveler (which makes my career a perfect fit for my life). My love for traveling stems from a love of cultures and people. I have a thirst for knowledge and deep understanding that makes traveling exceedingly exciting and able to fulfill me in a meaningful way. I have been fortunate enough to have spent much of my life traveling and have had the opportunity to live and work with people from all walks of life.
Otherwise, I grew up riding and showing horses. Anyone who knows me can attest - it will always be a part of me.
PHILOSOPHY
"Be kind. Be unique. Make the impossible happen." AND "It's always too long between hugs."
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I believe in the power of community and that everyone is a stranger until you get to know them. As such, I think it's important to get to know people, especially those who have the wanderer's spirit and want to see the world and really get to know it. So what better way than to be a part of their experience? Have a couch? Share it. Need a place to stay? Ask. It's the best way to meet new people, really learn about a place, expand your worldview, and have some great adventures. This has been my family's way of doing things for as long as I can remember. Our home was always open to old and new friends wishing to stay for some time or just hang out for a while. It is a tradition well worth carrying on.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I opened my couch to some fellow travelers while I was studying abroad in Prague. This was long before I knew of Couch Surfing (and only shortly after it actually became fully operational) but it was the start of my love for its basic principles - meeting, greeting, and sharing the local scene with others.
Centres d'intérêt
I love strong coffee, good books, live music, dance parties, outdoor adventures, animals, red wine, dirty martinis, sunshine, and traveling.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
I absolutely love to read. My favorite book is "Seven Types of Ambiguity", which I happened to pick up in a bookstore in Prague literally only because it was in English and long enough for my flight back to the states. I sure am glad I grabbed it. My reading it is a testament that "good things come when you least expect it".
For years, my favorite movie was Rounders. I love football movies, comedies, and documentaries. I still cry when I watch Dumbo. And, as sappy or dorky as it is to say, I never tire of Eat Pray Love or Under The Tuscan Sun.
As for music, I love it all. Especially if it's live.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
From camping in the Negev Desert to sitting two meters away from feeding lions, my life has been full of excitement and adventure.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
"Teach. Learn. Share." Isn't this the basis of life? I think so. As for me, I used to train horses and I have the best butternut squash risotto recipe ever. If someone had the patience to teach me the guitar, I'd be forever grateful.
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
A love for the country I am living in; insight into how to get around and what to do, see, eat, and experience; and a strong drink among friends.
