Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosted a handful of times in Japan. Once in my current house. Open to more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

"My father never traveled. Instead he invited every vagrant and traveler he met into our home and kept them there as long as he could with my mother's cooking. The price they paid was to share their adventures with us. He thinks I am crazy for going on the road. Right before I left he told me that "If you open your self to it, the world comes right into your kitchen. You can go to more countries by sitting in your kitchen with an open door than by walking your entire life"~

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in Antaiji (Antaiji.org)

Teach, Learn, Share

I've spent time in Japan (4 years) in the country side and the city and as a lay-monk in a temple. I can tell you about how to travel there and about the culture and language a bit. Also Tea.

I've also been to a lot of other Asian countries if that interests you.

I studied Buddhism and Cognitive-Neuroscience at school so that's still interesting to me. I still learn a lot about Buddhism in my travels: it's everywhere! Haha. Neuroscience, not so much. But I do see a lot of psychological principles in religious traditions and find that a very fascinating topic.
