About Me
If there's anything that can define a person it's what they believe in, and more than anything else I believe in three things. First, I believe all people have intrinsic, unlimited, and equal value and potential. Second, I believe others are people in most ways similar to myself while in some ways being beautifully and refreshingly different. And third, I believe that if one chooses to do something they should do it with all their heart, mind, and soul.
I grew up in Boise, ID, and I love my home. As I've traveled, seen cool new places and met great new friends, no matter how amazing the experience I've always been happy to see Boise again. That said, I'm long over due for traveling around the world and I plan on spending a lot of time out and about in the next few years.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love hosting travelers through couchsurfing. Taking people around to the local spots gives new life to things I've done hundreds or thousands of times. Even if someone really just needs a place to crash on a road trip it makes my night more interesting to meet someone new.
Of course from time to time I myself need a new friend or a place to crash in an unfamiliar city. I prefer unplanned trips and more often than not I am traveling on a whim. As a result I often send surfing requests on unreasonably short notice, but then again that's how I prefer to receive requests too, haha.
Interests
Music is a pretty big part of my life. I'm often listening to some new stuff on a good sound system, or playing something myself, or dancing. I like rafting or kayaking, hiking, climbing and stuff like that. I like to go to festivals. Burningman 2015 was my first and I'm pretty sure it changed my life.
Music, Movies, and Books
I like almost every genre of music, but I especially look for songs with strong beats, strong vocals, and something unique wether it be in the voice, or the arrangement, or the instrumentation.
I read a lot of non-fiction, but have been reading a bit of fantasy lately which is very new for me. It all started with a book called The Name of the Wind, it was AWESOME.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sailed a hundred miles through a gale that rung our ship bell and tipped a 300 ton brig down to it's scuppers. With only a ripped main top'sl to show for it.
Drove through the rain forest of Madagascar to spend time in Tamatave on the esat coast. By the way, if you ever find yourself in Madagascar don't miss the opportunity to see the many species of lemurs and chameleons or the Indian ocean.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would be happy to play or sing you a song, or to dance with you, or to tutor you in math, physics, or music, haha
