ABOUT ME

I'm an easygoing guy who loves to travel, try new things, and meet new people. I grew up in Alaska and spent a lot of my childhood playing outside and hiking. I went to college in Southern California, and then lived in Japan for two years teaching English. After my time in Japan, I returned to Alaska and now live in Anchorage. My mother is German and my father is American. Next to traveling, my favorite pastime is photography. Check out my website if you'd like to see some of my work. I hope to see you soon!

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is that if you work hard and are kind to others, good things will happen to you. I'm still haven't discovered my place in the scheme of things, but I'm trying.

I donated to the site, have hosted travelers, and surfed a few couches myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I remember one summer I hosted a couple from France and a Japanese woman in my small apartment in Japan at the same time. It was a full house, but we had a wonderful experience. We went swimming in the ocean together, and then I cooked them dinner. We ate, talked and played cards long into the night. It was a great memory!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Mexico to build a house for a poor family there. It helped put a lot of things in my own life in perspective. I also watched the sunrise from the top of Mt. Fuji with my dad.

I'm very interested in space and the future of humanity in the final frontier. I try to keep myself up to date about space/astronomy related topics. If you are also interested in this area, I would love to talk to you about it!

I can also share my knowledge about photography, although there's still a lot I need to learn myself!
