I am an American from NYC. I was a lifeguard in my teens and a nanny in college. After uni, I was a medic in the navy and worked in publishing. I’m currently a nurse and writer, living in Manhattan. I’m doing my masters in nursing informatics at Columbia University. I don’t really have to work much, anymore. I like to spend my winters abroad. I’ve traveled a lot.

I’ve published three autobiographical novels. The first is about becoming a minimalist while traveling around the USA in a camper van.

The second is about living as an expat in Mexico and getting back into golf and surfing.

The third is about the dual pandemics of obesity and mental health. Also, the veteran suicide crisis..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first degree was in a program called University Without Walls. I studied abroad every semester. Then made a multimedia thesis while volunteering in NYC public schools. Some of my programs included:

-Ancient Greek at Oxford University.
-Fine & Decorative Art appraisal at NYU.
-Politics at Charles University in Prague.
-Astrobiology at Biosphere 2 Center (Columbia Uni).
-Interning at the Embassy of Papua New Guinea (DC)
-Several programs in Mexico, Egypt, & Australia.
-Student film at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.
-Tracing steps of Ulysses around the Mediterranean.
-World Expo in Germany.

I lived in a camper van without running water, nor electricity. For years, I followed the weather and showered at gyms. That’s when I heard about CSing!

I’ve been fortunate to do a good deal of international travel. For a while, I was spending winters in a new world city/region every year. I’ve lived in 37/100 of the world’s most populous cities. Got a bit bored of it. Was like cramming 100 lifetimes into 1.

I have some fun certifications such as scuba diving, free diving, TEFL, personal training, etc. I love museums and sightseeing when I travel.

What I Can Share with Hosts

It’s hard for me to host in Manhattan. I have a small studio. I don’t mind buying groceries or dinner if I’m being hosted. Just let me know what you need or like.
