About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way!

ABOUT ME

On paper: I'm 23, I have my AA in Education K-12 and plan to go back for my BA in biology education. In reality: I'm on this earth to see and experience as much as possible. I'm relatively new to the game of traveling, but after a three week cross country road trip, I had the chance to see but a fraction what the world truly has to offer. Since then, I've been working to push myself further and further out of my comfort zone in search of new and exciting things at every opportunity. If there is something more you'd like to know, never hesitate to ask!!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that people are happiest when they don't take life too seriously. Sometimes you just gotta shrug your shoulders and move on. Life is a journey, not a destination so we may as well enjoy the ride!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now, just surfing. Once I'm living on my own, I look forward to hosting, too!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couch surfed a few times, not through CS, in Washington and Oregon with friends I'd met at Burning Man. Burners are very welcoming when they have a couch/floor to share!

Interests

I love to travel, read, write, hula hoop, camp, hike, road trip or just be outside. I love to talk and listen to music. I love the beach and someday hope to live in a place with palm trees. I cant get enough of concerts and festivals. I love to talk and tell stories. I'm always interested in hearing diverse perspectives. There is nothing better than sharing a laugh. I enjoy trying new things and seeing what I'm capable of. I also love to cook, despite being an unfortunately picky eater.

Overall, I love meeting new people, seeing new places and creating amazing memories.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is something I could not live without. In no particular order: Guster, Phish, Grateful Dead, Jason Mraz, Regina Spektor, Vampire Weekend, The Weepies, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Theivery Corp., Royksopp, Fischerspooner, Dave Matthews Band, Sublime, Jack Johnson, Railroad Earth, Adele etc....

I love love love to read. Some things I've enjoyed, off the top of my head, would be Time Travelers Wife, The Alchemist, Fraction of the Whole, Water for Elephants, anything by Christopher Moore, most Chuck Palahinuk etc...

Movies: I don't watch many movies, but in general i like comedies and cartoons.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few things come to mind but the most profound thing for me was going to Burning Man. I've been 3 times and will for sure be back for 2012! Such an amazing, enlightening, eye opening experience. Truly changed me for the better.

Teach, Learn, Share

Two things I love to yak on and on about are Biology and Psychology. Biology is something I hope to actually teach at the Secondary or post secondary level. Psyhcology is something I hope to go somewhere with sometime in the future. For now, I've just been taking any psych class I can fit into my schedule.

Also, I could probably teach you a few pretty cool hula hoop tricks!

On a different level, I love learning about peoples perspectives and seeing things from other peoples point of view. I think that people should never ever stop asking questions. There is so much to learn and so many people to learn it from.
