Started my journey in March 2022. Hitchhiked around Western Europe first, then crossed the Atlantic Ocean by Sailing. Toured through the Caribbean Islands and now I'm back hitchhiking through Mexico!
Didn't have a glimpse of how far I should come one year ago, now close to reach Central America.

Hi, Tobi here.👋🏽 Since I left my homecountry austria I'm very curious about different cultures, landscapes, food and of course what matters the most. Meeting people!
Listening to their story, getting local infos, exchanging ideas and learning from each other. My way of traveling allows me to stay longer in one place and get a deeper insight into all this beautiful countries.

I'm travelling the world slowly but steadily. Stopping where it feels good, helping where I can, experiencing lots of different aspects of travel and life☀️

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Getting to know people from the country by couchsurfing is a completely different approach as sleeping in a hostel and hanging out with travellers from all over the world.
When I'm in a city, I want to get to know the inhabitants, chatting the night away, finding the hidden places, having a drink...
I'm curious what's different to your lifestyle compared to mine.
Couchsurfing is a great way to make connections and experience the way of travelling different!

Interests

I'm into all kinds of sports. I practiced Volleyball at home, but i'm happily trying out all kind of sports. Always up for a hike. Happy in the mountains.
Another big passion of mine is firefighting. Unfortunately it's not so easy to continue with it, while travelling.
I love cooking and eating. Creating a delicious meal for someone is something I really enjoy.

Music, Movies, and Books

When someone asks me which type of music of like, I always respond with "I like basically everything". I'm able to vibe to a lot of different songs. As long as the speaker doesn't remain silent, everything is fine. ;)

At the moment I like to read spanish language books, as I'm trying to learn the language.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Have experienced so many great but also a few bad things since I've started my journey. There are many more to come.
One of my stories I like a lot is when I was hitchhiking from Bilbao to Barcelona. As it's not really easy to catch a ride in Spain, I tried for over 1.5 half days to catch a lift. 30 minutes away from Zaragossa.
Being really close on giving up, a driver on the rest station drove me back extra 30 minutes to the train station of Zaragoza.
It really felt like a lose, but then he insisted on buying the train ticket to Barcelona for me.
I didn't want to except this grateful offer, but he really wanted to do that for me.
I was so happy and confused at the same moment afterwards.
I didn't know that there are so many really great people out there and still don't know how I've earned this.
