About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See the world - raise my kids - be a good father - be the man, my wife deserves.
ABOUT ME
I was born 33 years ago in the south of Germany, I grew up in a christian family alongside 5 siblings (four of which are younger than me), so I like to think of myself as being good with kids.
Today I am married to my lovely wife (we married in March 2012) and live in Northrhine Westphalia near Dortmund.
In September 2015 our little daughter was born and instantly changed our lives. She is such a charming and gorgeous girl and makes life somewhat stressful but all the more beautiful. Edit 2021: now 4 weeks away from school she is not quite the sweet baby anymore but that’s life 🤪
October 2017 our second daughter was born at home. She is incredibly charming and has to put up with her naughty big sister.
And our newest arrival was born 1. March 21, a little son. However at almost 10 kilos at 4 months of age he is a little Goliath :) He loves to smile and being carried around.
My hobbies include reading, listening to music (not everything but quite a variety), sit in front of my computer where I successfully waste a lot of time, all about the UK and the English language. I am absolutely in love with Scotland and England and Ireland... but would love to visit any other English-speaking country in the world.
I love puzzles and quizzes, animals, walks in nature, good food, history and culture (Castles and stately homes etc.)
I enjoy watching films and all sorts of panel shows and documentaries... and I am very open-minded and talkative. There are so many things that amaze me and I always try to share them as they are much more beautiful this way.
At the moment I am all about coins. Buying, selling, stacking silver. I could talk for hours on end about coins if you let me :)
My faith plays an important role in my life and christian values are of paramount importance to me.
I should probably also write something about my wife Veronika: She is a few months older than me, a bit smaller and about half my size. She loves arts and crafts, painting, creative stuff etc. She also is very keen on her many webcomics. She is currently studying Information Technology in Dortmund and graduates in about a years time or two. Or a few years later. Kids have priority :) She is a bit quiter than me and normally thinks before she speaks. I might try that as well one day. Maybe.
PHILOSOPHY
Love one another! Never treat anybody in a way you wouldn't like either.
Always keep smiling - I am a bundle of good mood and healthy energy (at least I hope so)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't hosted yet - guess that's due to the fact that hardly anyone wants to visit the rural outskirts of Dortmund. We don't have a spare bedroom anyways but there would be a way if someone would like to come.
Generally I would really like to accomodate people from English-speaking countries, I am just mad about speaking to natives :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have surfed a few places now over 2 holidays - one in England and one in Ireland. The people we met were amazing. Thoughtful and generous. Looking forward to meet other people and of course stay in touch with the former hosts!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
see my daughter being born at home, watch her first steps, basically any milestone of my kids is amazing and touching.
Driving into Scotland. Being on the fringe festival.
Find a quarter ounce gold coin in a cheap coin lot.
getting to know our other surfers and hosts - wonderful.
I guess there are plenty more, but i can't list all or even recall them now.
Teach, Learn, Share
Love to learn (about) English accents, teach how to juggle, tell something about the sky at night, I can cook some nice dishes - I am specialized in desserts :) And my wife says I make the best Al dente pasta in the world..and she's probably right ;)))
I am a general knowledge person, so I will enjoy chatting about almost everything thats of interest. I am a reasonable table tennis player and will take any opportunity within the bounds of reasonable interpretation of the law to play it :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
we are fun and chatty.
Our kids can enchant literally anyone ;)
If you have coins from grandpa or whoever I can help you determining value and all that you wanna know.
We can help with the washing up or general cleaning of the house.
We will certainly find a way to show our appreciation
