About Me

Well... I'm not good at this introducing stuff but i know, it´s necessary and so i will try my best.

My name is Tobi and I am living in a little town in Bavaria/Germany. I am 180 tall, brown haired and some say athletic. I am stuying sports and metallography (i know, strange combination), to become a teacher for aprentices (trainees).
While I am studying i do a lot of cooking, laughing, joking, dancing and playing games with my flatmates in Bayreuth and i really enjoy to try out new things, events and lectures.

So all in all I heard, that I am a kind, open minded person, that likes to meet new people and do crazy stuff as well as grounded, normal stuff.

The best way to get to know me , I guess, is to meet and talk. Don't be afraid, I am not biting ^^

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I guess, one reason why Im on couchsurfing is, that meating local people and hanging out with them is a chance, that otherwise would be hard to find in a foreign country. It´s just... it´s a special feeling and it gets me more in touch with the behavior of people and the place I am staying at.
Who knows an area or city the best (or at least better than me)? The people how live there and I want to meet some of them and and get to know their habits, their view or vision of living in this place.

To me the concept of couchsurfing ist just awesome, because you are not only getting the benefit of staying somewhere for nearly no costs, but you also get so much more out of the experience. The experience of sharing space, food and stories with strangers and this feeling of hospitality is something, I enjoy a lot.

Of course people are more than welcome to stay with me in rainy and boring Bayreuth, haha ^^

Interests

I am doing a lot of sports like climbing, soccer, volleyball, swimming and because of studying sports in university, this takes upon a lot of time.
Another part is music. Not only listening to it, but also playing music with my friends is important to me and beeing the drummer in our band feels really good and makes a lot of fun!
I like backpacking a lot. After school I went to Australia for 4 months, I did a lot of woofing there, which was an awesome experience! I also travelled through Kuba with two friends of mine and the flair, the music and the people were just amazing. Another big trip I did, was through South East Asia. I visited North of Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2014 a friend and I decided to travel overland from thailand to myanmar although there was no information about that trip cause the borders between the countrys currently opened. We got a visa in bangkok and just did that crazy thing.
After 6 ours of siting in a van with 2 burmese families and driving over stick and stones through the unexplored countryside, we arrived in the dark somewhere near Dawei and i don´t know how, but we managed to get to a "hotel", where suprinsingly FC Bayern Munic played against ZSKA Moskau on tv. That was so awkward, unexspected, and amazing of course ;)
