I'm Tobias, I'm 34 and currently live in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. I work at one of the private schools here in the city, where I speak English all day to the children at my school, they're 10 - 12 years old and I channel my inner rock star daily.

I speak English and Spanish fluently, French and Portuguese are buried somewhere in my head too, though I don't use them here in Gran Canaria.

Travel has opened my eyes and ears and made me more appreciative of the world around me as well as the finite time we have here on this mortal plane.

I'm always eager to learn more about other people and the world around me, hence one of the reasons why I've signed up here!

Having completed a year abroad as part of my degree where I integrated well, I can say that staying with local people adds to the travel experience greatly. I enjoy meeting new people and experiencing new things so CouchSurfing will help greatly with that. I'm busy with my job usually, so I'm not in a position to let people stay in my house right now.

Listening to music. Reading. Photography (iPhone). Gym, yoga, eating out. Spending time at the beach and getting outside, enjoying the most of Gran Canaria.

Musica, film e libri

Films - The Fifth Element, Mean Girls, Kill Bill, Resident Evil (all), Elysium, X-Men films, the list goes on.

Music - Air. Portishead. Moby. Massive Attack... the list goes on. Mostly 80s-90s pop, electronic and dance (house/trance). I just don't get metal and am slowly learning to appreciate reggaeton.

Books - Too many to list as I've now got a Kindle and a Goodreads profile. I do prefer the feel, touch and smell of paper books though!

I guess I've done that already by coming to live in Gran Canaria, I did technically pack my life into two suitcases to come here and sold my car in the process. I've also appeared on Televisión Canaria twice since being in Gran Canaria, so I am forever preserved on YouTube for prosperity.

I can obviously make a good go of teaching English - I'm a native speaker. I can instruct anyone how to make an excellent cup of tea as well - though I need a kettle here of course...

I try cooking as well, but I'm not great at it! It’s much more convenient to eat out in the city centre.
