ABOUT ME

I am unable to host at the moment, but i am living at an awesome surf hostel called "the wave haven" just outside of oakura with plenty of accomodation.

I would love to share my knowledge of taranaki and area, and would love to meet up.

We have community dinner here every Wednesday and all are most welcome.

I am from Canada, but have been living in New Zealand for over 3 years now. I have Ukrainian and French-Canadian ancestry. I currently work on an organic veggie farm. My two great interests are community and sustainable agriculture

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love meeting new people and offering hospitality to others, just as so many others did to me while I was travelling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been a couchsurfer in the past in my travels, and we have hosted other people in my former place in Taranaki. I think it is a great way to experience the local culture and to show hospitality to others.

Centres d'intérêt

Music. I especially love singing folk music of different kinds (Notably: Canadian, Celtic, old gospel); I play the clarinet and banjo).
Food. I loooove food. I love to cook. I would love to learn new recipes, different dishes from different cultures. I like to try to do things from scratch (make bread, yoghurt, cheese, beer, growing mushrooms, growing food, etc.).
Love the earth. We try to do our best in our house to reduce plastic use and do things to show our respect for the earth
I love exploring and making adventures.
I love to swim in rivers and the ocean.
I like to play card games, and funny games, but am not particularly super competitive.
I like to do crazy things.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I walked 800kms of the Camino de Santiago through Northern Spain. This was one of the most enlightening experiences in my life so far. I met people from all walks of life and from all over the world. But we were all doing the same thing: walking to Santiago. This gave me perspective on the common experience and unity of all people.

i like to hear other people's stories and meet new people and experience new things. i like to try to broaden my horizons. and equally, i like to share my life and experience with others.
