About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Exploring the limits of leisure, work from the heart.
ABOUT ME
I grew up in Seattle, went to college in a small rural town in eastern Washington, lived in Scotland, Germany, a very strange place called Los Angeles, and now one of my absolute favorite cities in the world, San Francisco!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Couchsurfing all over the world and am just starting to host people. And Couchburners (the Couchsurfing theme camp at Burning Man)!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Let's see... I've couchsurfed in six countries now and every experience has been amazingly positive. Just logging on to CS.org gives me a Pavlovian response of intense joy and need for more travel :).
Interests
I very much enjoy reading and writing. I love music and I spend way too much time scouring the Internet in search of cool new music. I like making music on my computer and physical objects that have strings. I like simple foods, especially when bought from a street vendor. I like to ride my bike and find myself in tiny towns. I like beer and trying to find a region whose brews match the quality of the Pacific Northwest (hasn't happened yet).
And I like traveling (duh).

Music, Movies, and Books
I really love stories about imaginary people, here are some of my favorites: One Hundred Years of Solitude -Gabriel Garcia Marquez, everything George Saunders, everything by Haruki Murakami, The Sun Also Rises -Hemingway, Catch 22 - Joseph Heller
Here's some music that I like:
The Kinks, Belle and Sebastian, Hot Chip, Animal Collective, Nick Drake, The Magnetic Fields, Boards of Canada, New Order, The Microphones/Mount Eerie, Neil Young, Yo La Tengo, Neutral Milk Hotel, Jens Lekman, Sufjan Stevens, John Lee Hooker, The Black Keys, Giorgio Moroder, Radiohead and a bunch of others.
I love movies but for some reason it's hard to think of them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Radiohead on the Ok Computer tour. I was maybe 13 and my mind exploded. Riding a yacht-turned-playa-roaming-monstrosity as I watched the insanity/beauty of Black Rock City below us at last year's Burning Man.
