About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Spreading good vibes

ABOUT ME

Blah blah, I'm very interesting blah blah ;).

A believer in taking the road less travelled. To me that means doing what you believe is right, even though you'll meet obstacles and resistance.

In my professional life I speak for those that have no voice, that is I work for an animal protection organization. Discovering how animals are treated in modern day factory farms made me realize that I had to stand up and do something about it.

I also enjoy meeting people, exchanging ideas, chillax, beach volley, party, play the guitar, drink a beer and a bunch of other things.

End of box description for now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met some incredibly nice people - and a few weirdos (no mentioning names here ;)) - in any case I learned and enjoyed it a lot!

Interests

I have quite many interests. I've begun to do more cooking (vegan and often organic), which I enjoy a lot. Btw for those unaware 'vegan' means 'vegetarian' just without dairy and eggs.
In 2011 I took up running again, and I've managed to keep it at a steady flow since. I actually like running marathons ;).
Apart from this, being social, reading books, playing the guitar, beach volley, hiking in nature, biking, juicing.
I used to take salsa lessons some years ago, which I really enjoyed. Perhaps I should take it up again at some point.
Also I love nature. I have been to several national parks in North America and one in Thailand. Hiking the trails in Hawaii was one of my best zen-moments.
In a political context I'm into animal rights, environmentalism, human rights and probably all kinds of movements that work for more justice and a peaceful world!

Music, Movies, and Books

Eckhart Tolle (The power of now) and Anthony Robbins (Awaken the giant within) are def. my favourites. I'm going through a lot of books, very often audio books, as I enjoy listening to that while running.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time in Zürich I jumped in the river from a bridge 7 or 8 meters above water. It was scary, but afterwards I was very happy I did.
In a national park in Thailand, my brother and I were walking a trail where there were signs saying "beware of crocodille". That got us pretty focused (obviously), so we continued in a very slow pace prepared to run for our lives, only to find out 20 minutes later that by going slow we had allowed a small army of leeches to crawl up our shoes unto our legs and suck what felt like half a litre of blood. I'm not sure if this accounts for an 'amazing' thing, but at least I know this experience sticks with me for life. Always beware of leeches!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to help you with: Running, cooking, playing guitar, personal coaching, juggling with up to 3 items (not knives though!) and listening.
I'd love to improve: Cooking, guitar-playing, language (especially English, French, German and Spanish), whatever else you excel at.
