CURRENT MISSION: stay put
Update 2020
Because of the pandemic, we had to pause our lifestyle of constantly moving around. We're back in Germany for a while to get things sorted and wait for a better time to continue our adventure of location independent living.
Usually, this would be the perfect time to receive surfers but because we are in constant contact with risk groups, we are forced to let this go too - at least for a while...
____________________________________
We're a laid back couple from the Black Forest, Germany but had our base in Stuttgart from 2012 to 2017. We recently gave up our apartment because we haven't been home for the last 3 years. We are traveling long-term atm, drifting from one country to the next, usually by land or sea. Anna's a Social Worker and scored a master's in adult education and I'm a Photographer.
We (obviously) love to travel, like to meet interesting people, chat about the insanity of the world we call our home while getting tipsy, cooking the good stuff (vegetarian/vegan from all over the world - no worries, we don't missionize) usually with a beer/glass of wine in our non-dominant hand, are regulars at the sneak preview, enjoy good stories, visual art and everything that goes beyond small talk. We are progressive, rational folks with a big heart for weirdos and everybody who does not fit in a box. We do our best to not generalize and reflect on our own ways, we try to do our part in acting sustainably on multiple levels, ...well, it paints the picture.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As hosts: We love to help out and connect with fellow travelers, but we might not be available due to work or other projects. If we can we will cook for you, hang and show you around if you want. We're not a hotel and host our guests like we host our friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
Kurt Vonnegut, Wes Anderson, Quentin Tarantino and Fat Mike go to a bar..
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sailed across the Pacific Ocean, hitchhiked through South Korea, circumnavigated Australia in a 4Runner, finished "The Curse of Monkey Island" all by myself.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We cook, sing and dance for you if desired (singing and dancing not included), bring beer if asked for in advance, and talk with you about stuff you'd like to have somebody to talk about with. We are pretty social and usually get along great with everyone, if you don't have time to hang, that's cool, too. We hosted many people from all over the world (not just through CS), so when we have a base again in the future and you're keen to visit our neighborhood, you'll have a place to stay. We bring our own sleeping bags.. and might clean your kitchen, who knows - only one way to find out.
