About Me

I was born in Fargo, North Dakota but grew up across the Red River in Moorhead, Minnesota. During which I attended a traditional Lutheran church. At 17 I asked Jesus Christ into my heart at a Young Life meeting. An intense love for secular music caused me to back away from Christianity and move to Minneapolis to pursue a career in the recording industry. During that time I supported myself doing disc jockey work in roller rinks, nightclubs and at wedding dances.

In 1991, I recommitted my life to Jesus and later accepted the call to preach. During the late 1990s I was employed at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and also served as an evangelism leader at a large non-denominational church before stepping out to become a full-time missionary. My travels have taken me to every American state except Alaska plus parts of Canada, Mexico, and several European nations.

In addition to street evangelism, my ministry activities include writing books. a monthly newsletter and a weekly blog plus producing videos and musical projects.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While I enjoy staying at a hotel now and then, lodging costs are often very expensive. Except for the Good Samaritan, the Biblical example for hospitality is in people’s homes. Right now I don't have a permanent place to live. That's why I'm not in a position to host anyone. Since I'm new to couchsurfing.com, I don't have any references yet from fellow couch surfers. I can supply a list of recommendations from ministers who know me. You may also want to check out my website: www.signsandwonders.org

Interests

I enjoy surfing the Internet, going to coffee shops, watching NFL games (I'd like to see the Vikings win the Super Bowl before the Lord returns), family-friendly movies, roller-skating, playing board games such as Monopoly, Risk, and checkers plus some video games.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite musical artists B.C. (before Christ) were the Bee Gees, Kraftwerk, Prince, A Flock of Seagulls and U2. Currently I enjoy modern worship and most types of EDM as long as the lyrics are clean.

Favorite movies: Titanic (minus the nudity and foul language), My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Back to the Future (I II and III), Planet of the Apes (the original, sequels, and its reboots), Home Alone (I and II), the Rocky franchise, God's Not Dead, Courageous, and War Room.

Favorite Books: The Bible, "Battlefield of the Mind" by Joyce Meyer

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Before giving my life to the Lord, I produced several songs that received national airplay on the Dr, Demento radio show. Two of them became #1 requests that still get played to this day. In 2015 I returned to Dr. D's show with a new song titled "Seal Dog Theme." You can find the music video for it on YouTube.

What I Can Share with Hosts

How to effectively share the gospel with others without being intimidating or intruding. I'm also knowledgable with audio/video equipment, computers and making web sites.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland
