Overview
About Me
Hey there! I'm Todd, 25 years old, and a Buffalo native. I love writing, music, writing music, food, sleeping, and above all, language. I think it's important to note that I am gay and I welcome people from all walks of life. I am in school to get my Bachelor's in French at UB. After that, I hope to continue on to a Master's program which will allow me to ultimately become a translator.
J'apprends tout seul le français depuis trois ans. À partir d'août 2016, j'étudie le français à l'université.
Unfortunately, due to my living situation I am unable to host. But hopefully in the future that will change. In the meantime, I'm open to meeting up with surfers in the Buffalo area. Let's hang out! I'd be more than happy to show you around and get to know you.
If you're interested in hosting me, it's important to know that I am allergic to cats...which really sucks, because I love cats so much. I often think about how many don’t have a home and how I should have them and how cute they are.
(Extra points if you get the above reference. :-) I really am allergic though... )
I work at Trader Joe's and genuinely enjoy it. When not at work, I spend my time studying French, reading, writing, cooking and baking, sleeping, and/or adventuring outside of my home. This includes traveling- a relatively new interest and passion of mine.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've always had a love of travel, but it was latent until 2015. There is a huge misconception that traveling is expensive. It's not, if you do your research beforehand. I decided to stop talking about doing it as if it were some pipe dream, and just do it, and that's what I did. In the first half of 2015, I traveled to Panama City Beach, FL, Andalusia, AL, and Cleveland, OH. Other places I've been to include Columbus, OH, New York City, NY, Washington, DC, and Baltimore, MD. Places that I want to go to include everywhere on the planet.
That's why I'm here: to travel around, meet new people, be amidst different cultures and walks of life, learn languages, broaden my horizons, change my way of thinking, have my eyes opened. Every single human on this earth can offer something, even if they're unaware of it. I'd very much like to bear witness to these offerings, as well as hopefully offer something myself.
*Also! I'm looking to learn Finnish and from what I've seen, the resources are limited compared to other languages. If any Finns notice this and are willing to help, I'd be greatly appreciative. And there's a chance I'll wind up visiting the country soon.
Interests
I love anything to do with creative output. Writing, music composition, drawing, RPG creation, and language learning are among my favorite pastimes. Reading, cooking (rather, causing kitchen conflagrations), baking, and body modification are some others. I'm an avid foodie, a movie buff, love the outdoors, enjoy going for drives, and I love discovering a new awesome restaurant, or musical artist, or hobby. This list is not exhaustive, but it's a big part of what makes me, me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don't know if this qualifies as 'amazing,' but I'm proud of myself for doing it. In February of 2013 I auditioned for The Voice. I didn't make it past the preliminary round, but it was an invaluable experience nonetheless that I'll cherish forever.
