About Me
CURRENT MISSION
As of Spring 2017 we are unable to host anyone for the foreseeable future. Hopefully we can resume opening our home sometime in the Fall of 2017>
My mission...just to be a good citizen of the world. Not out to change the world, but maybe just be a positive influence if I can.
ABOUT ME
I'm now 48, married and have 3 children and two dogs. I'm a traditional artist mainly working in oils and watercolor. Check my website, www.toddderr.com.
I've done a variety of things in my life since graduating high school. Tried college, but quickly decided I wanted to see the world. So I joined the Air Force. Served 4 years, then came back to my childhood home. Spun my wheels for a few years at various jobs; HVAC service tech., AC motor mechanic in a huge shop, deckhand on a river barge, Over the road truck driver, started my own custom paint and airbrush business, and now work in my home studio or outside painting en plein air. Throughout all this time I have pursued my love of adventure and the outdoors...mountain biking, hiking and backpacking, scuba diving, sailing and messing around in boats, and searching for the cool folks in the world to share it all with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I mainly have put myself out here to provide a place for anyone passing through this area to stay. I'm not traveling as much now, with raising a family and working on my art. Though we get out at any opportunity.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosting. Haven't couch surfed, via this site, at least...wish I would have known about this back in my wandering days.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Dropping off the side of the dive boat on the reef in Belize and putting my face in the water for the first time...just incredible the life under the waves.
Hiking alone into the Wind River Mtns. of Wyoming and the utter feeling of isolation...even though there were more than a few cow pies to remind me what Wyoming is all about. Ha,Ha!! Incredible solitude.
Teach, Learn, Share
Always happy to talk art or show someone my working process.
Do you need your furnace or A/C looked at? Do you need to overhaul the engine in your Jeep? Ha, Ha!!
How about landscape your yard? Or build a treehouse...
Basically, I can do a lot of things....and if not, I can learn.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Would always be willing to share my art.
