About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See and do as much as we can see on a shoestring
ABOUT ME
We were married in January 2009 after graduating from Washington State University in 2006 (Amanda)and 2008 (Todd). One year later we were offered our slot in Botswana as US Peace Corps Volunteers and moved there (Gumare, Okavango Delta) in April 2010. We finished at the end of June 2012
Shortly after, we moved to Arenal in Costa Rica to work in a hotel, with the goal of learning eco-tourism first hand, learning Spanish and exploring/understanding the beautiful country.
We have just finished our time at the hotel and are spending our remaining month traveling down the pacific coast.
We both love to travel, understand new cultures and ideas, learn, eat & drink, cook new foods, be outdoors and laugh!
Basically, we want to live life to the fullest, and experience as much of the world as we can!
PHILOSOPHY
Love, laugh and learn together, with one another. It makes life better.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far we have only hosted couch surfers and are looking forward to surfing now in Costa Rica!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We've hosted several guests in our home in Gumare Botswana and had a really great time getting to know people and refreshing them in their travels.
Interests
We both really enjoy traveling, photography, learning new cultures/people/ways of life, learning new ideas, volunteering, cooking & baking new foods, eating (everything!), drinking wines, coffees and teas, laughing, music, reading, being outdoors, hiking and being at the beach.
Todd is super laid back and a bit on the quiet side until you get to know him. He is particularly into photography, all things technology, and talking about serious issues. He graduated with a Medical Science degree and hopes to be a Physician Assistant (PA).
Amanda is a bit more talkative and outgoing. She graduated with a degree in Hospitality Business Management and as such, very much enjoys food and drink, entertaining, traveling and being around people. She is particularly interested in making music (singing, playing guitar, listening to others), travel, being fit, creating new foods and business/management.
We look forward to hosting you, staying with you and generally sharing and learning from each other
