CURRENT MISSION
Live life, make friends, experience the world.
ABOUT ME
Merina and I are just a couple of kids at heart living large in Chicago. We moved here about three years ago when she started her residency program in Ophthalmology and I finally finished grad school and ended up with a real world engineering gig. We got married in 2014 and have loved every minute since. I got started with couchsurfing before she came into the picture but since then we've had some great experiences surfing together as well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We're always willing to show anyone a good time in Chicago and love staying or meeting up with people when we travel as well!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had some great times meeting people at CS events when I first started out while living in Atlanta, dinners, potlucks, camping etc. That was how I got started and immediately realized this was something I wanted to be a part of. I've hosted a number of people in Atlanta and surfed all around the world.
We've hosted some great people and had some adventures of our own, navigating the craziness of Semana Santa in the DR complete with drinking, dancing and an amazing beach front Easter dinner come to mind.
Interests
I love traveling (no way!) and have recently gotten really into photography. As far as I'm concerned the best way to come to know a new place or culture is by meeting and interacting with people who live there. All of my best travel experiences have been a direct result of the people far more than the location. I play/watch soccer and am extremely loyal to my Oregon Ducks and am also a big fan of good beer and coffee. I work in the energy world, analyzing and forecasting the impacts of domestic energy policies and development plans.
