About Me
Hello! I've lived in the NJ area my entire life thus far. Grew up in the suburbs, went to college in a bedroom city of NYC, and moved out for work to a little city ~30 minutes from both my hometown and college. I like to say that NJ has a little bit of everything, just not the best of it (food is probably up there though). I found interests in hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, snowboarding - pretty much anything outdoors - as well as exploring cities and experiencing their culture - art, music, food.
Professionally, I work with computers. Recently I have been very interested in the development of cryptocurrencies and how they will shape society. Overall I enjoy learning anything new and exploring roads less traveled. My education has been in Chemical Biology since deciphering the mysteries of life is something that I find truly fascinating.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I signed up for Couchsurfing when I first heard of it in college. Travel is something that I've always wanted to do, but was restricted by time and funds. Couchsurfing seemed like a great way to help out with that, as well as to better experience local culture from locals themselves. Unfortunately it's been sitting idle since; however, I've recently made travel a new priority and am hoping to do some couchsurfing.
Interests
I'm someone who's down to try anything at least once. My true loves involve the outdoors, the less touched by mankind the better, and the complex systems which primarily exist in the mind. Not sure how else to put that, but the abstract worlds opened up by technology and discovering the world we live in. Those things where you have "Aha!" moments and discovering how seemingly disparate parts can fit together.

Music, Movies, and Books
It's difficult for me to list favorites since I tend to bounce around a lot. For music, a recent favorite is Courtney Barnett which an older favorite is Pink Floyd. For movies I often enjoy cult films and older films. Sometimes I'll work off a bit of the top IMDB list. A recent movie I watched and enjoyed was Children of Men. For reading, I primarily read fiction but will often have a non-fiction side book. Mainly, I read classic literature and books recommended to me by friends. Over the past two months I've read: The Great Gatsby, Pastoralia, Wise Blood, and am nearing completion of The Savage Detectives.
Ultimately, I'm willing to consume whatever, typically I'll stick to a bit more "tried and true" works unless it's recommended to me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
At this time of writing, I've quit my job as a software engineer to take a road trip around the Eastern US. Currently I'm nearing the end of my trip and it's been one of the best decisions of my life. I've meet amazing people, been in amazing places, and have had amazing experiences. Seeing others who have been living the same lifestyle gives me hope that I too can be less restricted by the rat race.
Teach, Learn, Share
Sharing knowledge with others who seek it is extremely rewarding. Not only do you help them, but it also help yourself better understand it. I am a passionate learner. I love getting into the intricacies that aren't apparent to laymen. What can be mundane to most, I find interesting.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share the slice of life that I've thus far experienced. I would gladly introduce them to any of my interests, whether rock climbing or working with cryptocurrencies. One of my favorite things is sitting down with a stranger and having a conversation.
