PHILOSOPHY

The following are H.D.Thoreau's words that I feel strongly related to:
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. ... I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life ... to root all that was not life.

'Dead Poets Society', 'Lord of the Rings', 'Cloud Atlas', 'Game of Thrones' but also independent films with a message as well as movies by Jim Jarmusch; I am a Whovian (fan of BBC's timey-whimey, wibbely-wobbely program Dr. Who); favourite music changes with my location and mood; love(!)the local music festivals here in northern BC; books by J.A.Mitchener; "The Alchemist", "Ishmael"; K.J.Rowling's "Harry Potter" book series (Not the movies!)!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I've layed side by side with an amazing leatherback turtle on a nocturnal beach; I've howled with wolves in BC/Canada; I dove on the second largest barrier reef; I've stayed in an oasis in the desert; for about half a year I've been in Egypt - my favourite travel destination of all; ... And while we are at it, here is the scarriest ever experience: I've been through an earthquake (magnitude 7.3) on a Caribbean island that was hit in the middle of the night ... no tsunami though - lucky us !!!

I strongly believe that opening our arms, hearts and homes to others will give us strength to withstand the current trend of disconnection, fear and hatred. Reaching out open-mindedly is the best I have to offer and to share.
