About Me

CURRENT MISSION A simple life, sharing with others while volunteering with NGO's, schools, organic farms or other social service organizations. Focus on finding deeper meaning in my life. Searching for others whose life is built on sharing in a rural community most likely in Central and South America. I need an environment that motivates while living a simple lifestyle sharing with others.
To be human means to care and show respect for all our sisters and brothers. I need to keep pushing myself each day, continuing my journey, discovering more about this life. And to stop questioning why life is this way... just keep doing positive things. I need to be active while also finding my time each day to quiet my mind and be at peace.

ABOUT ME

Looking for the perfect place to live in a rural community in Uruguay or Argentina. Hope to build an off grid house with a large forest garden. I hope to do volunteer activities focused on helping families start gardens to provide healthy and inexpensive fruits, vegetables and herbs. Ideally looking for a multi-cultural rural community where life is slower, where families care about one another and enjoy life. Maybe start an Intentional small community where we share what we have with one another, to learn and grow together.

PHILOSOPHY

By knowing more about other people and cultures, and having an interest in other people's lives, the better this world will become. A little help goes a long way to improve the lives of those living in developing countries. By volunteering, we have the opportunity to improve their lives while sharing our life experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hopefully to find new friends and share life experience living simply and sharing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed at two CS families in Nepal in July and had a friend from Hungary come to stay with us in 2010. I tutored English online for about 9 years.

Interests

sharing life with friends, spirituality/meditation, traveling, hiking, photography, music, volunteer work..... living a simple life, enjoying each day and helping those who have very little material things. Always starting each day with yoga while quieting the mind... a little planning for the days activities, but allowing plenty of room for life to unfold.

Music, Movies, and Books

enjoy documentary films, travel shows, a varity of music including ethnic music and dance (Irish, Eastern European, etc.), and songs by people like Frank Sinatra, John Denver, Josh Groban, Celine Dion. Nowadays, my reading is mostly online finding things of interest and value to share with others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Had a great experience traveling alone across India, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan and Malaysia in 1987 to 1989 visiting various social service organizations and meeting so many warm and friendly people. Now I am retired in 2018 having visited some interesting people throughout SE Asia. Feeling now that I need to look at South America partly because of my western cultural background which allows a different interaction with people compared to those in Asia. Now I hope to slow things down, making the most of each day. It's good to plan some but spontaneity can lead to unexpected pleasures as I have already found out many times already. Enjoy each and every day... smile and welcome everyone... Namaste!

Teach, Learn, Share

Want to learn more about organic gardening, herbal healing, solar, clean water and micro-finance especially for use in a third world environment so that I can be of help to those people truly in need.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will share my life experience, wherever I might be at the time. I can also share my love for sports and outdoor activities like hiking and partake a little with soccer/football, basketball and table tennis.
