I'm born and bred Finnish, but my father is English and I went to an international school in the lovely city of Tampere. After graduating from high school I moved to Manchester to study and ended up staying for a few years after that to work as the marketing manager for a building supplies company. I also did an exchange year in Vienna, which was a lot of fun!

I now live in Denmark with my German girlfriend, and I'm studying for my master's degree at Copenhagen Business School. It's my final year and I'm currently writing my thesis which involves a bit of travel to London and Manchester :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Back in 2012 when I was living in Manchester I was invited to a CS pub night. I met a lot of hosts and guests, and got acquainted with the Manchester CS scene which was a lot of fun.

The shared house I lived in at the time had a spare bedroom which I thought would be great for hosting. It had been empty for some time, but unfortunately it got rented out to a new tenant soon thereafter so I wasn't able to offer it to couchsurfers :(

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I started a floorball team in Manchester! You're excused if you don't even know the sport (think ice hockey indoors without the ice or heavy hitting), but it was pretty cool working with friends to introduce a completely new sport to the area. No longer involved since I moved away, but watching the team progress is like watching your own child grow :)
