I am 18 years old, I took a gab year to do voluntary work in Nepal. I've been there for three months, two months working, one month traveling. I came back in february, a few weeks before the earthquake. In september I am going to university, to the HKU in Hilversum. I'm going to study Audio Design. My girlfriend Lotte de Haan is already attending classes at Windesheim, a university for applied science in Zwolle. She is studying communication and also is 18 years old.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started the account because I am going to travel from Prague to Budapest with my girlfriend Lotte de Haan. We really like the idea of couchsurfing and were hoping we can meet a lot of nice people on the track, and after this journey with couchsurfing. Accepting guest is a little bit complicated right now, we both live with our parents so its not quite our decision to let someone sleep at our house.

Interests

I (Tom) love music a lot. I am going to study the technical side of music (for example creating speakers or rooms but also mixing music) so I really hope I can find work in this sector. The genre's I mainly listen are pop/rock, reggae, jazz and funk. I really enjoy artists less famous dutch like Clean Pete, Lieve Bertha and Sofia Dragt (you should check them out), but also well known artists like Radiohead, Metallica, Queen, The Turtles, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Will and the People, Coldplay, Chef'Special, Stromae, Jimmy Hendrix, Carole King, Cat Stevens, Johnny Cash and many many more.

And my girlfriends interests are art, the communication sector, the dutch language. (Wonderful to see how people can write down one simple word so differently, haha ;)) She also likes to watch series and movies.

This is just a small list, I wont be able to make a top 100 songs, even though I would know some songs that would be definitelyin there, for example these few songs.

With films it is the same. I like so many films. If you want me to name a few very good movies I can give you some titles, there is no order, the only thing I know is that they are in the top 100 for me. A few titles: shawshank redemption, groundhog day, taken, inception, die hard, schindlers list, pulp fiction, the silence of the lambs, the pianist, the green mile, intouchables and again, many many more.

I am not really a person that really likes to read, but if I read I enjoy psychological thrillers.
