Hi, I'm Tom. I'm an easy going, open minded friendly guy who wants to see as much of the world and meet as many of its inhabitants as possible. I love to hear different points of view and see alternative ways of looking at life. I like to be spontaneous and go with the flow.

I love to travel, meet new people and share stories and experiences with them, especially over a beer or two.

I love food and cooking. My girlfriend I recently did a ski season in the French alps as chalet hosts, and have worked for many years in restaurants. Trying new food and cuisine is one of my favourite things about traveling.

I love to party till the sun comes up as much as I love a quiet night in with a movie or a board game with friends, or sat round a table laughing and sharing a bottle of wine.

I love languages, although I don't speak a second language I always learn as much as possible when in a country and try to use it to make the locals laugh/ show respect.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To see what a place is really like you have to live like a local. I want to meet and live with as many people as possible to hear their stories and share their way of life.

I only heard of couch surfing recently from backpackers. They have all said it's by far the best experience they have had traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music, all kinds. The right song or track for the right moment, wether it's classical or jazz at dinner , reggae on the beach, blues in the early hours music just makes it better I love to share music with people and learn about new artists from them.

I love action movies, a good thriller or even a cheesy comedy.

I've only just really got into reading in the last few years but I like true stories/ autobiographies about people with interesting lives.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

*Walked up 1250 steps to a temple in Thailand.

*Skydived from 16000 ft.

*Swam with dolphins and turtles.

*Hit 99kph on skis.

*Drove a Porsche around a race track.

*watched sunrise at Angkor Wat.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am hoping to learn Spanish this year to broaden my travel prospects and be able to interact with more people.

I love to play the guitar but I'm extremely out of practise so playing with people is always good.
