Hi there! My name's Tom and I'm currently traveling all around Europe for the next few months with plans to finally settle down for a few years and work over here.

A few years ago, back in New Zealand, I lived in an exchange house for about two and a half years. Over that time we had maybe 20+ couch surfers through (hosted on one of my best mates accounts) a few of whom ended up becoming flatmates and great friends!

I have amazingly fond memories of those times and really want to explore the world the same way they did, meeting locals and having amazing times along the way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I love meeting locals and finding out about things that you'd usually miss out on if you were staying at hostels!

Interests

One of my really good ideas *sarcasm* was to try and shoot my entire 6 month trip on film, well that's been an incredibly heavy and somewhat costly idea! Still yet to get any rolls developed and I'm 6 weeks in...

Aside from that, exploring some of the hiking trails around the Greek islands and Eastern Europe has been incredible. Some truly breathtaking landscapes! And let me tell you about the time we ended up lost in a small rural Albanian village, where absolutely no one spoke English...

The food though, I'm a sucker for trying new dishes and local specialties. That's absolutely been a highlight of the trip so far, especially on Naxos in the Greek islands, amazing seafood, and in Tirana in Albania, the lamb dishes I had there were incredible!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Assuming ingredients are available, I'd love to be able to cook you up a classic kiwi roast meal! Cooking is one of my favorite things to do!
I can also give some great travel advice for New Zealand if you're planning on traveling down there some time, I've done plenty of exploring all around the country.
