About Me

I love talking to people and getting to know more about different perspectives, backgrounds, stories, and I am pretty sure I myself have also experienced quite a lot to share and discuss. I'm not demanding or hard to handle, I'll be happy with a lot; be it a simple mattress for the night and an early leave in the morning, or spending a nice time together and maybe becoming friends (I'd prefer the latter though)! :D I recently finished my Master in Global Studies and am therefore naturally interested in getting to know the world, different cultures and people. If you like political debates, that was my Bachelor subject and basically what I work on, so I love diving into many discussions. On the other hand, simple fun and enjoying good moments together is just as exciting to me. I am a digger for trying out new food, so if we can cook something together or go out and discover, I will be extremely happy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I have to read so much for my work that I barely manage to find the motivation to read privately. I used to be into fantasy novels, then I had a philosophy phase, then historical novels. For the past years mostly historical or geographical analyses (e.g. "A Line in the Sand", "A History of Eastern Europe", "Prisoners of Geography", "Putin's People (...)" as recent examples).

Music: I can listen to almost anything and do so quite often; I have almost 200 Spotify playlists created by myself because I always change my taste or discover new ways to further categorise my mood and genres. I'll gladly introduce you to the depths and craziness of my taste; at the same time, I adore getting to know new music and inspiration!

Films: (Psycho-)Thrillers, fantasy, sci-fi, Ghibli and much more all across the board. I can watch all kinds of films and love discovering new ones, I just have my problems with musicals, romances, or Adam Sandler-style (bad) comedy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My volunteering project in Fès/Fez, Morocco, during which I went through all the possible stages of culture shock and homesickness one could imagine, but in the end, it turned into the time of my life and I will never forget it. I would love to tell you about it in person!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A very approachable, friendly and open-minded guy eager to learn about the world and other people. I will listen to your stories and can tell you about my experience :) We can discuss serious matters or just have a fun time together. I am adaptable, not hard to please, and, if I'm not too exhausted from going around all day, always in a good mood! ;) I would like to inspire you for some sightseeing or activities in your own hometown, because I myself discovered this in the past and I would like to share the joy with others.
