Overview
About Me
I'm Tom a 21 year old Student with a Dad from Uruguay and a Mum from Manchester, I think this mix has served me well thus far.
Very chilled out guy with a hunger for experiences, I believe this is the way forward and if possible to share these experiences with people and friends.
Currently at University studying Politics and International Relations, so while the political system bores me, I love hearing about peoples first hand life experiences, about their country and about places they've visited. I've always found it way easier to talk to people about travelling - if they have travelled! Otherwise you just come off as that 'Gap Yah' guy.
I like to think I'm very easy going and appreciate good conversation, a good drink (or two), some good stories and a dash of adventure where possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
On here because I think staying in a Hotel can be nice, but staying in a home with a host is a whole other experience. Looking to meet new people around the world and hear what they have to say and in turn offer what I have to say.
Sadly as I'm a poor student It's difficult to host guests, but I believe the good Karma of my hosts will soon be repaid in the future when I am able to give shelter to a weary traveller

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - All sorts but planning to go to Wireless Festival because they're playing Chance the Rapper, G-Eazy and Lil Dicky all in one day
Movie list could go on forever, love a bit of Marvel, and anything by Christopher Nolan
Books, again could talk about many but I can highly recommend The Sparrow and The Goldfinch as two very good recent reads
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
RALEIGH BORNEO! This is a charity which takes on youths and sends them off to a base camp for 3 months. We had a 2 week Jungle trek, a month working in a rural jungle community creating a tap system for the village, and a month working in Maliau Basin doing conservation work for all the biodiversity there. Many good memories and friends made.
Teach, Learn, Share
Yes, Yes and Yes ^
What I Can Share with Hosts
A bright personality to offer some good conversation and a few laughs.
Don't have any expectations for using this service, other than to accept any generosity from the host
Up for pretty much anything, I can be a quiet guest who can keep to themselves, or can sit down and have a meal and a beer with you and see where the evening goes!
As my father constantly repeats - CARPE DIEM
