I'm an extremely friendly, smiley guy, with enough stories that it will probably start to get annoying. I'm philisophical, optimistic, and pretty well cultured. I've seen more films than about 4 people will see in their lifetimes combined, and I'm apparently the only person on the planet who prefers the Goodfellas to the Godfather.
Also, I have opinions on everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Whilst I'm in the Netherlands, and in particular Amsterdam, I want to get to meet a load of new people. Plus, there are a load of cool bars and stuff that I want to go to, but it's a bit weird going on my own...

Music, Movies, and Books

Used to read a lot, but now I just watch films and documentaries, as they are more of an art form, containing emotion in more layers than just text and dialogue. That said, I am in the process of writing a book.

Any film by Wes Anderson (in particular, Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou), The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (one of the only decent Ben Stiller Films), Catch Me If You Can (or most films based on amazing true stories), plus a f*ck load more.

In terms of music, I love the stuff which captures raw emotion. I like a lot of jazz, and a fair bit of hip-hop, I like Coldplay despite the hate I get for saying that, and I love most songs from the 70s and early 80s. My top artists would probably be Keaton Henson, My Morning Jacket, and .. oh I don't know, that's a really hard one

I could teach you; about my own opinions on stuff, and that's about it. I'm not particularly academic, despite my best efforts. I've replaced all useful information with random and useless facts.
