Overview
About Me
Researcher and teacher from and based in London, UK. I’ve been living here since finishing my Msc in International Relations in Bristol in 2019.
I currently balance my time between doing remote research for several US-based NGOs and teaching adults English as a second language.
I have a number of interests, including history, current affairs and politics, languages, theatre, film, reading, cycling, swimming, badminton, exploring cities and the outdoors.
I like doing these things both independently and with other people. It's great to share interests with others, and I love learning about other people's passions, too!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This July, I'm travelling to Barcelona for an academic conference. On the way there and back to the UK, I’m choosing to take my time and do some inter-railing through a few places. It’s been a while since I’ve done some travelling so I’m really excited.
I'm looking forward to making new friends with you in each town or city, to experiencing new lifestyles where possible, and to offering good company and any help in in return. Couchsurfing will be a great way for me to gain this experience with a host.
I have a strong interest in learning about other countries and cultures. Every step of my journey around Europe will involve me learning about your lives, values and interests!

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a fan of books by Tolkien, Emile Zola, Proust, Marlon James, Simone de Beauvoir - quite a mix.
I also love film music, jazz and blues, classical, folk and Indy folk, 60s/70s rock, disco, 80s New Wave, Soul and Neo-Soul, Afrobeats etc.
Some of my favourite artists include Billy Joel, Bill Evans, Billie Holiday, Stevie Wonder, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Hans Zimmer and Thomas Newman.
I love all sorts of well-made films.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Can’t decide… Interrailing around Europe, Erasmus year in Lyon, collaborating with amazing people on research/advocacy projects….? I like to create as many small but memorable and special moments as possible throughout my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
Learning languages is great fun! I have many experiences to share, too!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Friendliness, respect and good conversation, and an enthusiasm for exploring the host's city.
I'm a very adaptable person, in that I enjoy both relaxing and doing more energetic activities (going out, clubbing and exploring places). It all depends on the company I'm staying or socialising with :)
I can offer both a good sense of humour and respect for your space and some quiet if you prefer.
I can also cook food if that’s preferred!
