Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

From my recent travels I kept hearing positive things from people who'd been using couch surfing while they'd been on the road, and from other people who'd hosted folk themselves. I'd say a genuine interest in getting to know people from different places/backgrounds, the chance to help somebody enjoy the time they spend in my hometown as much as possible, and the chance to experience other people's towns with the added insight a local can bring to the table are the reasons I signed up.

Plus I'm cheap and don't want to pay for a hostel.

Interessen

I go to a lot of gigs. I take a lot of photos. I skate occasionally (my joints hate me for it a lot more now than they did 16 years ago). I'm pretty hot for bouldering right now. I'm trying to learn to play the banjo. I feel bad for my neighbours in that regard.

Pretty keen on the printed press these days - National Geographic, Huck, Aesthetica, Smith Journal. Basically anything filled with culture, art and adventure.

A fair bit of time gets spent with my friends coming up with dubious comedy ideas that'll never see the light of day. Kind of like a clandestine Mighty Boosh but without any of the charm or humour.

And meeting and talking with new people. That's gotta be a given on here though, right?

I know my way around a kitchen and I know my way around a camera. So if you fancy cooking up together, I'm down. And if you need a quick portrait shooting to jazz up your profile page, I'm down. There's no crossover between the two though; I draw the line at photographing food. I already look like enough of a bad hipster as it is.
