(Not verified since they charge $60...so, just sayin'). Just moved into this amazing 40 acre 1950’s (grandma style) farm home. 10-20 minutes to anywhere in Des Moines (including suburbs). After living in Tokyo for a few years (1989-91), Alaska, Portland OR, college in Maine, Houston...I realized living 5 miles into the country from where I grew up was where I feel most at home.

I traveled since college, 3 years abroad before settling into ‘real work’. Today, I still travel for work a fair bit and am hoping new travelers use this network to expand/challenge themselves to ‘get out there’. Nothing better!

I am trying to offer and meet folks who are trying to resist consumerism, want to have a ‘rural’ stay, and have a story to tell.
