About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Discover and enjoy life, just by meeting, helping new people and having new experiences. You don't need the newest iPhone for that! I love to philosophize about almost anything but luckily I can also switch off my brains anytime and just have fun!
ABOUT ME
As you probably already saw/read, I'm a musician! I studied piano at the conservatory (jazz & pop). I also sing, and I play the guitar. I taught myself to play the guitar when I was 16 and lovesick. The singing came a bit later, together with my self confidence. ;)
I finished my studies in july 2012. This gave me more freedom to travel! I also have a big love for languages. That´s another reason why I love traveling! Before knowing Couchsurfing I already was couch surfing. I guess I was just lucky meeting amazing people around the world! Good food, music, and nice people around me is basically all I need to be happy. I enjoy helping others when and where I can, and I'm always curious to learn new things.
I also can bring music in the house, which in most cases people enjoy!
My life at the moment is a balance between everything above on one side, and on the other side: learning about a conscience lifestyle, with good healthy food (I love to cook), doing sports, being outside, thinking and talking about sustainability, crisis, etc..!) I'd like to see more people think about where they buy there food, what the banks are doing with there money, etc..
I'll stop writing now, hope we will talk in real life soon!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In june 2012 I met a musician from La Coruna (Spain) in Rotterdam. We have only seen each other 2 days but I was welcome whenever I wanted. 2 days later I was in La Coruna to enjoy 1 amazing week in Galicia!
When I traveled to Catalunya in march 2013 I went to Girona without arranging anything. I saw on the couchsurfing website that there was going to be a livingroom-concert! I went there, and immediately had Girona-friends where I could stay!
Interests
Making, listening and teaching music (almost all styles!), learning and teaching languages. I love it when somebody makes a funny and embarrasing mistake in another language! I also found out that learning another language has made me more creative..! I changed the way I speak Dutch after learning Spanish..!
Other interests: Cooking healthy food, sports, learning about a self sufficient life, reading, games/puzzles, science, physics, campfires..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was in Cadiz, I stayed in a hostel called Casa Caracol.. There I experienced an environment in which almost everybody was helping eachother out. People shared things & food, gave eachother classes (music/yoga/languages) without asking anything back for it. When a new person arrived, he/she sometimes had to get used to this way of living together. But it is so contagious, that after 1 day they're joining already! This gave me a lot if inspiration and energy.
Teach, Learn, Share
I studied music, and work full time as a musician, so I could teach music! Piano, guitar, music theory, etc.. I could also teach languages (English, Dutch, and the basics of Spanish) There are so many things I'd still like to learn. I'd like to improve my Spanish. After that I'd also like to improve my French! Also I'd like to learn how to grow fruit and vegetables in my garden. Something completely different, but also interesting, right?
