About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I just want to climb big bits of rock wherever they are!

ABOUT ME

I live and work at The Olive Branch El Chorro, a very friendly and laid back climber's hostel in Southern Spain. It has been a long road to get here, but I can say with certainty that I am where I want to be.

I am very much a people person and just love to spend time with interesting people. Whether out climbing, sitting in the pub or cleaning loos together, I just enjoy the company of good people, and always try hard to put others first.

I like to think I have a pretty open mind, especially when it comes to music and film, so I am always interested to see and hear what people are in to.

PHILOSOPHY

Act like what you do matters. Because it does.

Don't ever judge anybody else by the standards of some twat who screwed you over. Those people are in the minority.

Old wrinkly people who have smiled most of their lives still look beautiful. So smile more :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, my main working skills are in coaching rock climbing, but I'm a pretty good chef too - no sweat to cook for 20 or more...

I really enjoy fixing things, computers and electricals are what I have the most experience with, but anything really. I don't like to throw anything away when it can be fixed or used for something else.

In everything else, I'm a pretty quick learner and happy to muck in.

Music - Anything that's good! Seriously I listen to all sorts.

I really do have a wide taste and an open mind. Always happy to share creative works people are into.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once saved a sheep from certain doom. Too funny a story to share on here though.

Saved a mate's life once too. That story's a bit long and heavy though.

I set up and ran a three day music festival with a mate with no experience or money and somehow turned it into a profitable enterprise. No that one's way too long.

Hmm. This is a tough box to fill.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a qualified Climbing Instructor with a lot of teaching and coaching experience with people of all ages and abilities. Always happy to take people to the crag for the first time or push experienced climbers to achieve more!

Happily show anyone a few secrets in the kitchen too....

Good on a PC, happy to help you learn whatever it is you want to do with your computer from basic stuff to music and video editing. Repairs too, hardware and software.

Learning bushcraft skills as I go on my travels and always looking for someone to show me a few things I didnt know and maybe share a few things I know too.
