Hello! My name is Tom, I'm a musician and sound artists and my practice coud be describe as this :

Multi-instrumentalist and sound artist Tom Jacques develops sound apparatus to discover new sonic environments and compositional elements. He is the founder of Bascaille, an eclectic percussion trio working on the boundary between music and visual art, a member of the GGRIL (Grand Groupe Régional d’Improvisation Libéré) and jazz quartet MANTA, as well as a frequent collaborator with many different artists on numerous projects.

Beside music, I love great conversation and I'm quite interested in social and natural sciences and languages. I do have environnemental values but It's a struggle to applies them while being musician. Still, we got great gardens in our backyard, and eat 100% organic food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

À titre de voyageur, je suis toujours très heureux de pouvoir rencontrer, passer du temps et partager des discussion avec des gens de tous azimuts. Couchsurfing, même si le modèle devient de plus en plus lucratif et perd un peu son essence première, est encore l'application qui fonctionne le mieux pour faire des rencontres. Alors en attendant que les alternatives deviennent efficaces (comme Bewelcome) bien je suis ici!

À titre de host, j'aime bien l'idée d'offrir l'espace vacant de notre maison et son énergie à tous les voyageurs. Lorsque je ne voyage pas je suis généralement très occupé mais je suis toujours content de préparer un lit, donner des conseils, et discuter quand j'ai le temps. La maison est partagée avec 4 autres colocataires très gentil que vous aurez probablement la chance de rencontrer. Bref, le principe est simple vous faites comme chez vous en respectant toute la colocation!

Hay mucha artistas que me gusta, no tengo sufficiente patienca para porner todo! Musica contemporanea como John Cage, Mauricio Kagel, Ivan Wyschnegradsky... Jazz como Steve Coleman, Tehlonious Monk, Henry Threadgill... Cancion como Tom Ze, Leonard Cohen, Brigitte Fontaine... Hip hop como Jazz liberators, the underground, Romeo Elvis. Me gusta tambien mucho la musica traditional del mundo y creo que siempre estaba una inspiration para artistos contemporeano. La Reunion, Danyel Waro, del Bele, India, Indonesia, Congo, Mongolia, bali, Brasil ...
