About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am engaging in a solo, cross-country trip on my bicycle

ABOUT ME

I am eager to meet new people and share stories of all different kinds. I love exploring new territory as well. Like most people my age, I am struggling to figure out what my purpose is in this world. I feel that exploring the United States and interacting with as many people as I possibly can, I will hopefully formulate an answer by the end of the trip.

PHILOSOPHY

I would like to keep this space blank until I return from my trip. I feel like I will have an entirely new perspective on life, love, religion, politics, etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As of now, I have only surfed couches. But given the hospitable nature of the people I have met on this trip, I am excited to host travelers once I get back home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My only experience thus far has been that of a surfing variety.

Interests

I am interested in film, reading science fiction, trying new foods, and learning practical skills for life. Above all, my favorite thing to do in the world is talk/listen to other people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: David Wain, Wes Anderson, Lars Von Trier, Woody Allen, Christopher Nolan, Peter Jackson.
Music: Animal Collective, The Doors, The Walkmen, Modest Mouse, Youth Lagoon, etc. My trip has also consisted of loads of stand-up comedy/podcasts.
Books: Tolkien, Charles Burns, Dan Clowes, Adrian Tomine, Alan Moore.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Definitely getting lost in Toledo, Spain with my girlfriend at the time. We had missed our train and had absolutely no idea how to get back to our hostel in Madrid. The excitement outweighed the fear by far. It was at this point in my life I realized there is no point in worrying, and embrace the moment. We finally stopped and simply admired our surroundings and watched the sun go down. Eventually we noticed a bus on the end of the street we were on. Coincidentally that bus was headed to Madrid. Things have a way of working themselves out. I learned from that experience that there is absolute beauty in every moment, regardless of how troublesome they may seem.

Teach, Learn, Share

I feel that at this point in my life, I am a jack of all trades, but a master at none. I hope that with this trip, I will know what it is I want to do with my life and explore that subject further.
