About Me
ABOUT ME
My most recent big adventure, summer 2023: Walking the Camino de Santiago (camino frances) across Spain.
I'm a middle school English teacher who relies on public transit to explore hidden (and sometimes not-so-hidden) parts of San Diego. My (Japanese) husband and I live with our two cats.
PHILOSOPHY
"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." (Proust) I also think that humor is one of the best ways to connect to someone new.
Interests
I like visiting libraries and bookstores, spending time in parks and gardens, taking lots of photos and learning about cultures and religious practices.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 20 I bought a 45-day pass for Greyhound and visited 31 states. The most memorable moments were snorkeling at Dry Tortugas National Park off of Key West, FL and hiking in Acadia National Park in ME. Spending an afternoon in the Cloisters in New York City was great, too.
I've also stayed for three days in a Buddhist temple at Koyasan, a sacred mountain near Osaka.
