Overview
About Me
I'm tom, 24 years old, born and raised in Jerusalem Israel.
My father is originally from South Africa and my mother is originally from Australia.
I learnt in the "keshet" religious-secular high school, and after graduation I spent a year of volunteering in a ecological-educational farm in the north hills of Israel. I specialized during that year in goat cheese making.
after that I joined the army, and served as a combat paramedic in the Israeli Defence Force for 3.5 years.
2 years ago I started working in a french restaurant in Jerusalem as a cook and later on as a sou-chef.
I fell in love with the world of cooking, working in a kitchen under pressure and working with different people from different backgrounds and different ages.
For the last 10 months I've been travelling around the world- morccow, spain, india, nepal. Now my next big adventure is exploring russia and sebiria.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was in NYC 2 year ago , I couchsurfed over there. I got ditched in the last moment by a couchsurfer there and straight after had two amazing experiences with other ones.
after that I decided to take on myself being a host too and opening my home for people and for last minute requests as I know how stressful it can be.
except from that, I just love meeting people around the world, discovering their culture and learning about future places to visit at.
