About Me

< The Layout of my profile is still reminecent of the old CS Website and I am to lazy to change it all :-) >

I'm a sincere and mindful ginger guy, who has grown up in an average city in Germany. After spending a year in the BEAUTIFUL norway to participate in the "European voluntary service" and several more trying to become an engineer, I finally found a city and a profession to spark my passion.

I love hanging with people to chat about random things, just sit in the park, drink and party, but sometimes I also just need to be alone with a good book, my laptop or out in the nature. If I got people all around me for several weeks I go crazy. ;-)

PHILOSOPHY

Personal philosophy, huh?
Well we all think travel and meeting other cultures is wonderful and makes you feel alive, or we wouldn't be here right? So I can skip that part.

Apart from that ... mhh ... I tend to do things in (sometimes too) chilled way. Why getting stressed out when you can take your time ... ? I learn in the last seconds, pack my luggage an hour before departure and hand in my applications a day after the deadline ... works pretty well for me. Hard to bring me out of balance that way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I said - I think that is pretty much the same for all of us. Who wants to die just having seen his small little bubble of life? I honestly believe I would be a different person without ever having used CS, as it widened my horizon, made me more confident, let's me approach people so much more easily and gives me the oportunity to make friends wherever I am.
It all started when I lived alone for a while and when the urge to buy a pet for some company in my 4 walls arrose, I decided that I'd rather have some people to talk to than a ferret to clean up after. ;-)
Also people sometimes cook, drink, party and chat with me. Definately things ferrets aren't too good at ...

PARTICIPATION (Was an old sub section on CS profile)
Mhh participation in what?
Worlds Society?
Well I seperate my trash, don't buy much meat, stop the water tap, when I brush my teath, don't drive a car, hitch hike as much as possible , collect the rubbish, after spending time in the nature and donate a few coins to an aid organisation. Haha At least that's enough to keep my conscience clean! ;)

... what else could I participate in? I don't participate in any religion. I am quite realistic and see no need to believe in a higher being watching us. But I totally accept other opinions and freakin love discussing those things.

Guess that's enough participation for now ...

Interests

At the moment I don't find too much time for anything else, than study, travel and spending time with the people I love.

Since spending a year abroad I just love being arround people from different places and cultures. It's just inspiring to see how life goes & people think somewhere else. All those small beautifull differences like a guy from Latin America being in shock, after telling him that I usually sit down to pee or the Norwegian love for "Vorspiel" / "Nachspiel" just make me love couchsurfing more and more.
On the other hand I love playing games on my pc when at home, just too chill down after a busy day, ride my awesome bike to get around in town, have some party at night or just read a good book in the morning. The usual stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

The alchemist - Such a sweet little book, packed with many inspiring thoughts.
Der Schwarm - Mind Blowing Book when you live in Trondheim, which gets annhihilated in the book.
Inception - The movie, that brought back some respect for DiCaprio to me - just great!!
The Oceans Series - love Clooney as smart & gentle villain
Her - love the way they present this very special love story without getting too technological or romantic.
How to tame your Dragon 1 & 2 - love the animation work and flying scenes in this one. There are so many little details to love in every single scene. Modern animated movies like this really are some kind of art to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just love youth exchanges. I was in the north of Norway with about 40 young people from all over Europe to camp, go fishing, hiking and talk about human rights problems.
Projects like this are incredibly inspiring and give me a sense of a possibility of European unity. The awe inspiring landscape of this far end of Scandinavia also did it's part.

Also sitting at Fishermans Camp in Naivasha, Kenya watching the hippos blow bubbles was just one of the most relaxing moments of my live.

Countries I’ve Visited
