About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My goal is to backpack through most of Europe (very original, I know) in Winter 2010/11. I was born in Eastern Europe and I've seen much of it, but most of W. Europe still remains undiscovered to me. Cultural meccas (London, Paris, Munich etc) must be see

ABOUT ME

I was born in Eastern Europe, but have lived in Canada since I was 9. When asked for my nationality, I will say Canadian (proudly!) unless you want to know more, in which case I would go more in-depth as to my origins.
I know it's cliche, but the reality is, that I am a kind of global citizen. I'm accustomed to the North American lifestyle, but I have much family that still lives in Europe, and I have maintained my first language. I know enough about both cultures to weigh both their pros and cons and truthfully, they're not incredibly different as some are!

On a less serious note, I'm a liberal artsy kind of guy! I love to read, appreciate art, and love a good philosophical/political debate (or screaming match- whichever is preferred). I can find an interest in almost any subject, especially the grand ones: the Universe, languages, time, history and cultures etc.
I've always had a yearning for adventure and I maintain that the best way to learn something is to experience it for yourself. The accounts of others, while fascinating and helpful, are just not the same!
I've just finished my university education, and though I plan on going back, I have to satisfy my adventure-thirst first!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Even though I've just joined CS a few weeks ago, I've felt a tremendous welcome to the community. Only days in, and I was contacted by a few members from all over the globe showering me with tips on travel and their contact information, just in case I find myself in their part of the planet. Recently, I took a road trip to California, and while there I was immediately invited to a CS party. (which I wish that I could have attended!)
I'm taking off again to Europe in about a week and I may have to rely on the generosity of locals to let me stay with them. Something tells me that it won't be a problem!
Upon my return I plan to share my home with CS members (I figure this is the best way to give back!) and enlarge the community
