Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to just host anyone that asks to stay with me, but I've been trying to get more involved lately, going to meetings and such, meeting local CSers. Right now, since I can't host, you can occasionally find me at CS events.

Most recently, I've been working with Alison McSweeney to get the Third Sunday Potlucks going again! Come out to the next one!

Oh, and I'm really bad about writing references. I apologize in advance if it takes me a year or more to write you one.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch television, and I'm not big into movies, but I do love to read. My favorite book of all times (so far) is Heller's Catch22. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest comes in close second. My other favorites change on a regular basis, feel free to ask at any given time. Lately I've been on a short-story kick since I haven't had as much free time to read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed my first mountain, Mt. Katahdin, and having never *really* hiked before that, cried the whole way up. It was the first day of a two week hike through Maine's 100-mile Wilderness, and I had no idea what I had gotten myself into. The whole trip was physically painful, mentally trying, and also breathtakingly beautiful and completely worth every second.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn how to cook more, better, healthier, more sustainably, and so on. I want to learn more about gardening, recycling, composting, et cetera. I want to learn how to make our earth happier.

I can share with you everything I know about art and creative processes...painting and drawing, sewing, stained glass, photography, bookbinding, scrapbooking... If I don't already know at least the basics, chances are I want to learn it. I'm always ready for an art project.
